Restorative Yoga: Attune. Yield. Receive.

  • Portland Yoga Project 449 Forest Avenue Portland, ME, 04101 United States (map)

Theoretically, we understand the physical & mental implications of rest and relaxation. How does the practice impact not only the physical but the emotional, energetic, and spiritual realm? What does lying on the floor have to teach us about embodiment? Using the Elements of Ease (a map Margo created based on subtle body anatomy), we’ll explore the nervous system through polyvagal theory, the function and structure of the vagus nerve, and the applications of this understanding to teaching and practicing Restorative yoga.

Investment: $45.00

Part lecture, part practice.

You will learn:

  • Your nervous system is more intricate than an on/off switch.

  • Your ability to relax is related to your ability to receive support.

  • The body moves at a slower pace than the mind: How can we give space for the body to inform the mind?

  • Explore your sixth and seventh senses, proprioception & interoception, to feel at home in your body.

  • Simple tools to incorporate into your teaching and practice.
